Castlewood Canyon State Park
Location: Douglas County, east of Castle Rock

Castlewood Canyon, a day-use park, offers climbing, hiking and viewing the ruins of the Castlewood Dam, which burst in 1933, sending a 15-foot wall of water into Denver.

Cherry Creek flows through the park along the canyon floor, and most hiking trails, ranging from a half-mile to four miles, are open to pets on a leash.

A natural amphitheatre and a gazebo at Bridge Canyon Overlook are available for weddings or other gatherings outdoors.
