The Fort Collins Municipal Railway operates a three-mile roundtrip ride on a restored trolley car to give visitors the flavor of bygone days.

Fort Collins operated trolley cars from 1919 through 1951, and the fare remained 5 cents all that time.

Operating on weekends and holidays, May through September, the trolleys now travel between City Park and Howes Street using Car 21. The depot is next to the tennis courts at Roosevelt and Oak streets.

Another car formerly used in Fort Collins, Car 25, is now being restored and will operate on the rebuilt West Mountain Avenue line.

The all-volunteer Fort Collins Municipal Railway Society has spent thousands of dollars to maintain the line and operate it.
