The Montrose County Historical Museum is located in the former Denver & Rio Grande Railroad Depot and has exhibits on the Montrose area’s history.
The highlights include a walk-through Homesteader’s Cabin equipped with a family’s furnishings and memorabilia and one of the state’s largest collections of farm machinery, including horse-drawn reapers and a hay bailer.
The Children’s Corner has dolls, toys and baby furniture.
The museum library has Montrose newspapers from 1896-1940, historical photos and oral histories.
