Mueller State Park
Teller County, south of Divide

Mueller State Park is a year-round favorite for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding.

Winter sports and wildlife spotting – elk, black bear, hawks, and mule deer are found in the park – are also popular activities, and the park features two sledding hills. If snow conditions are good, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing are permitted on trails.

Some of the 132 campsites are open in the winter, and three cabins are for rent year round.

A visitor center on Big View Overlook offers dramatic views and features exhibits, including a watchable wildlife kiosk, interpretive panels of the surrounding mountains and three trailheads for short or long hikes.
