Routt County, north of Steamboat Springs

Steamboat Lake State Park offers relaxation and recreation along with gorgeous views of Hahn’s Peak.

Family fishing, camping, picnicking, trail and boating opportunities are available, with a full-service marina and a swimming beach.

Winter usually brings lots of champagne powder, a term that originated in nearby Steamboat Springs, not to mention snowmobiling, ice fishing, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.

Ten cabins are available for rent year round. In warmer weather, campsites may be reserved in advance.
