Vega State Park
Mesa County, east of Grand Junction

Vega State Park’s mountain lake, at 8,000 feet in elevation, sits on the edge of Grand Mesa National Forest near Grand Junction.

Boating, water skiing, sailing, windsurfing and jet skiing are popular at the lake. Swimming is prohibited.

Activities at the park include birding, hiking, ice fishing and cross-country skiing.

The park provides snowmobile and off-road vehicle access to trails in Grand Mesa National Forest.

Four campgrounds with everything from full-service sites to walk-in tent sites surround the lake. Five cabins also are available.

The Meadows Group Picnic Area is available for weddings and larger events.

The Rocky Mountain Nature Association Store offers shopping, and its proceeds fund educational programs at the park.
