The 100,000-square-foot Downtown Aquarium features exhibits that simulate rivers, a coral lagoon, a wharf, a sunken ruin, a shipwreck and a beach, with more than 1 million gallons of water.

The restaurant seats diners around a 150,000-gallon aquarium.

The facility opened as Colorado’s Ocean Journey at a cost of $93 million in 1999 but ran into financial troubles. It was purchased in 2003 by the Landry’s restaurant chain and reopened in 2005.
