Elkhead State Park
Location: Moffat County, east of Craig

Elkhead State Park centers on a 900-acre reservoir in the high desert of northwest Colorado’s Yampa Valley. It offers boating, swimming, fishing, camping and picnicking, birding and wildlife watching.

Elkhead Reservoir contains small mouth bass, crappie, northern pike, catfish and trout.

The park abounds in photo possibilities.

A new campground, Bear’s Ears, offers a convenient spot for water recreation fans to stay.
