The Gunnison Pioneer Museum has 18 historic buildings, artifacts and memorabilia on its five-acre campus, plus a Denver & Rio Grande Railroad narrow-gauge train and 72 antique cars.

The train consists of an engine, a flanger, a gondola car, a boxcar, a livestock car and a caboose and stands next to a water tack moved in from Marshall Pass and a depot relocated from Sargents.
In the summer, the museum offers four-wheel-drive tours of the Aberdeen Quarry on Beaver Creek, which provided granite for the State Capitol Building.
