Lone Mesa State Park
Dolores County, north of Dolores

Lone Mesa State Park covers 11,760 acres of scenic land, ranging in elevation from 7,200 feet over 9,000 feet. It is currently in the development and management planning process.

Although the park is closed to the public, special activities may allow access.

Limited public hunting during big game seasons is permitted by special use permits for elk, deer and bear through a lottery drawing in July.

The Visitor Center in Dolores provides OHV, snowmobile and boat registration.

Volunteers at the park also have counted butterflies for the Colorado Natural Heritage Program and the North American Butterfly Association.
