Roxborough State Park features dramatic red rock formations accessible by trails through the geological wonders for all levels of hikers. The 4,000-acre park in Denver’s back yard, a short drive southwest of the city.

The Fountain Valley Overlook, only 100 yards from the visitor center, provides views of several spectacular rock formations.

More than 14 miles of trails visit giant hogbacks and red rock formations, ridges and spires.

Visitors’ cameras capture views or sightings of animals such as red fox from one of the park’s overlooks. Black bears and mule deer are also seen in the park. No camping, mountain bikes, pets or horses are allowed.

Fountain Valley and Lyons overlooks, each with a capacity of 30 people, are available to rent for weddings and other special events.

The park is designated as a Colorado Natural Area and a National Natural Landmark.
